Protocol

There is only one thing better than relaxing at great cafe drinking a rich hot coffee and that is having you're favourite furry friend at your feet while you do it. We all love our pets and most of us are a little bit gulty of treating them more like humans than animals, I know I am!
However it is important that, for councils and state goverments to allow us to enjoy pet friendly cafes, we must adhere to a protocol that keeps all concerned happy.
However it is important that, for councils and state goverments to allow us to enjoy pet friendly cafes, we must adhere to a protocol that keeps all concerned happy.
1. Don’t let the dog eat at the table or touch the table top.
2. Don’t let your dog lick from any plate, cup or piece of cutlery.
3. It is not a good idea to let your dog sit on your lap whilst you are eating.
4. Just in case, it may be a good idea to bring your own water and water bowl with you.
5. Bring a little towel or mat with you when you go out, for your dog to settle on. Something familiar that would prove to be comforting to your dog in new surroundings.
6. Never leave your dog outside the café on its own tied up.
7. Keep your dog tied up appropriately to your table, chair or a pole at all times.
8. Do not let your dog defecate on the café’s walls, floors or furniture.
9. If your dog does have to go to the bathroom, please make sure that you bring your own doggy bags with you and take the package away with you when you leave. Only if the cafe supplies a specific bin should you place bags in a cafe bin.
10. Always be considerate of all other patrons, cafe staff and pets.
11. If your dog is not friendly towards people or other dogs, it is best to leave your dog at home as it would not be a pleasant experience for anyone.
